Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Practice Manager to lead our tax services team with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and review of complex tax engagements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while delivering exceptional value to our clients. Your leadership will drive the development of innovative tax strategies, foster a collaborative team environment, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy and integrity. Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of tax professionals to deliver comprehensive tax planning, compliance, and consulting services across diverse client portfolios. Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring adherence to current laws including estate planning, securities law, and corporate accounting standards. Develop tailored tax strategies that optimize client financial outcomes, incorporating knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), mergers & acquisitions, and other specialized areas. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations and maintain rigorous internal controls for all tax processes. Collaborate with clients on financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and analysis skills to support their business objectives. Manage regulatory reporting requirements while utilizing accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for accurate bookkeeping and financial statement preparation. Conduct audits and reviews related to tax accounting, general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis to uphold accuracy and transparency. Provide mentorship and training to team members on technical accounting concepts including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), double entry bookkeeping, payroll processing, and asset management. Experience Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or 3+ years of professional tax preparation experience Strong knowledge of individual and small business tax returns Experience supervising staff or managing workflow Excellent communication and client‑service skills Ability to work extended hours during tax season Strong organizational and leadership abilities Proven experience in public accounting or corporate tax roles with a strong background in tax experience covering estate planning, wills & trusts & estate law, financial services, private equity, or non-profit accounting. Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, financial report interpretation, budgeting, asset management, and regulatory compliance. Hands-on experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar platforms for bookkeeping and financial statement preparation. Strong analysis skills combined with excellent attention to detail in account reconciliation and financial statement review. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
