Job Description

Tax ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead our tax compliance, planning, and reporting functions. The Tax Manager will oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, local, and international tax returns, manage tax provision and accounting processes, identify tax planning opportunities, and ensure compliance with changing tax laws. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a team and interact with internal stakeholders and external advisors.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all aspects of tax compliance, including preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and franchise tax returns across federal, state and local jurisdictions.

Oversee tax provision (ASC 740) and coordinate with the accounting team to ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting.

Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and support business objectives.

Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff; delegate assignments, review work products, and provide performance feedback.

Coordinate and manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities and external auditors.

Collaborate with finance, legal, and business unit leaders to evaluate tax implications of business transactions, restructurings, and new initiatives.

Research and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings; maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative and regulatory changes affecting the company.

Prepare and present tax analyses, reports, and recommendations to senior management and the board as needed.

Manage relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and software providers to optimize tax processes and controls.

Drive process improvements and implement best practices and tax technology to increase accuracy and efficiency.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Masters degree in Taxation or CPA/EA preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required or actively pursuing CPA credential.7+ years of progressively responsible tax experience, including experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax roles.

Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and international tax rules and regulations.

Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing a tax team.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills with attention to detail.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting complex tax matters to non-technical stakeholders.

Hands-on experience with tax planning, compliance, audits, and controversy matters.

Strong ethics and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
