- State Income Tax is responsible for managing U.S. state and local income/franchise tax compliance, ASC 740 reporting, audits, and providing technical guidance to internal stakeholders. This role ensures compliance with state tax requirements and also supports planning initiatives. Job Duties
- Manage and review outsourced state & local income/franchise tax return preparation and related compliance activities.
- Heavily support outsourced state tax provision and apportionment calculations, journal entries, reconciliations, and forecasting under ASC 740.
- Directly facilitate extensions, estimated payments, journal entries, reconciliations and forecasting related to compliance and provision activities
- Lead state and local tax audits and coordinate responses to tax authorities.
- Conduct technical research and support planning initiatives, incentives, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess impacts on the company.
- Support SOX compliance and process improvements related to state tax.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to SALT team members. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, or related field.
- 10+ years of state and local income/franchise tax experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and multistate tax concepts.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills. Preferred type="disc
- -CPA, MBA, or Master's in Taxation.
- Experience with OneSource, CCH, Checkpoint, and SAP. Competencies type="disc
- -Ability to work independently under broad direction.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex multi-jurisdictional responsibilities.
