Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax engagement work for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role focuses on preparing and reviewing annual tax filings for small businesses and individuals while providing thoughtful guidance on tax strategy and compliance matters. The position also plays a key part in overseeing accounting deliverables and ensuring the accuracy of bookkeeping work completed by team members.
Responsibilities:
- Manage tax engagements for small business and individual clients, ensuring timely completion of annual filings and related deliverables.
- Prepare and review federal and applicable state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 990, and selected estate and trust returns.
- Advise clients on tax-saving opportunities, entity-related considerations, and planning strategies that support their financial goals.
- Oversee compliance activities by verifying accuracy, completeness, and adherence to current tax regulations and filing requirements.
- Review bookkeeping and accounting work prepared by staff, identify discrepancies, and provide direction to maintain reliable financial records.
- Support business clients with accounting-related matters that impact tax reporting, year-end close, and financial statement readiness.
- Guide and mentor entry-level team members by answering technical questions and promoting high-quality work across engagements.
- Coordinate with clients to gather documentation, clarify financial activity, and resolve tax or accounting issues efficiently.
