Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Tax Preparer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex tax preparation processes, ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, and provide expert guidance on a wide range of tax-related matters. Your expertise will support our clients in optimizing their financial strategies while maintaining rigorous adherence to regulatory standards. Duties Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, estate planning, and non-profit tax returns with precision and efficiency Provide expert advice on tax compliance, tax law updates, and regulatory requirements to clients and internal teams Assist with tax reporting related to mergers & acquisitions, securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other specialized areas Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy in tax filings Support audits by preparing necessary documentation, conducting audit procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) are met Collaborate with clients on estate planning strategies involving wills, trusts & estate law to optimize tax outcomes Utilize advanced accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software tools for bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial report writing Requirements Proven experience in tax preparation with a strong background in individual tax, corporate tax expertise, and tax reporting processes Extensive knowledge of tax law, tax compliance procedures, and regulatory reporting standards Demonstrated expertise in accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, technical accounting, GAAP standards, and regulatory compliance accounting Familiarity with financial concepts including asset management, investment analysis, private equity, and financial planning Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar platforms for bookkeeping and financial analysis Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial reports and conduct account analysis effectively Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly and professionally Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory Experience working within public accounting or private sector firms specializing in tax accounting is highly desirable Join us as a Senior Tax Preparer where your expertise will drive client success through meticulous attention to detail and innovative solutions.
