Job Description

ARP was established in 2000 with a vision to serve our communities and clients through a comprehensive approach to tax planning, preparation, and compliance. We help individuals and businesses address their current tax obligations while developing long-term strategies to support their financial goals. Our firm prepares a wide range of tax returns, including individual, business, partnership, trust, and corporate returns (LLCs, S Corporations, and C Corporations). We provide services for federal, state, and multi-state tax filings, delivering professional and personalized support to meet each client's unique needs. Position Summary ARP is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Certified Tax Preparer to join our team. The Certified Tax Preparer is responsible for preparing and filing accurate tax returns on behalf of clients while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role involves gathering and analyzing financial information, identifying eligible deductions and credits, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the tax preparation process. Key Responsibilities Educate clients on the tax preparation process and required documentation. Gather, review, and organize financial records, including income statements, expense records, and other supporting documentation. Accurately enter financial data into tax preparation software and internal systems. Apply current federal, state, and local tax laws to prepare accurate tax returns and identify eligible deductions and credits. Prepare and electronically file tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and applicable state and local agencies. Review completed tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Respond to client questions and provide professional guidance regarding tax matters within the scope of the position. May serve as an authorized representative for clients before taxing authorities when permitted and required. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive client information. Build and maintain strong client relationships to support client retention and business growth. Stay informed of changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Qualifications At least two years of certified Tax Preparer experience. Must be certified as a Tax Preparer A Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business or related field. Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field preferred. Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations. Experience using tax preparation software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines during peak tax seasons.
