Type:

full-time Tax Preparer Role Overview ACP Tax Advisory is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join a fast-growing bilingual firm. This person will handle a diverse client portfolio including personal returns, business entities, and cross-border matters. This is not a training role, the ideal candidate is already operating confidently in a professional tax environment. Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual income tax returns (Form 1040) including Schedule C, E, and itemized deductions
  • Prepare business tax returns: Forms 1120, 1120-S, and 1065 for LLCs, S-Corps, and partnerships
  • Assist with foreign-owned entity compliance (Forms 5472, pro forma 1120, FBAR awareness)
  • Communicate directly with clients in English and Portuguese for document collection, status updates, and explanations
  • Coordinate with the internal bookkeeping team to ensure clean financials prior to filing
  • Identify tax optimization opportunities and flag compliance risks proactively
  • Maintain organized digital client files within the firm's internal systems
  • Meet all seasonal deadlines (April 15, June 15, September 15, October 15 extensions) Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation experience
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese - full client communication in both languages is required
  • Working knowledge of personal taxes: 1040, Schedule C/E/B, standard vs. itemized deductions
  • Working knowledge of business taxes: 1120, 1120-S, 1065 and associated schedules
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously
  • Active PTIN (or willing to obtain immediately) Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or CAA credential
  • Experience with foreign-owned U.S. entities (Forms 5472, ITIN applications)
  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Familiarity with IRS e-file procedures and extension workflows
