Role Description The Tax Preparer role at Ledger Rite is a full-time, on-site position based in Saline, MI. In this role, the Tax Preparer prepares and reviews individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and analyzing financial information from clients, verifying documentation, and identifying potential tax deductions and credits. The Tax Preparer will communicate with clients to clarify tax-related questions, maintain accurate records, and support the team during peak tax seasons. This position also involves staying current on tax law changes and contributing to process improvements to enhance service quality. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Preparation and Tax, including experience preparing individual and business returns. Candidates should possess skills in Tax Law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations and guidelines. Candidates should possess skills related to Financial Statements, including understanding income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules. Candidates should possess skills in Finance, including basic financial analysis and understanding of accounting principles. Relevant qualifications include prior experience in tax or accounting roles, preferably in a public accounting or tax preparation environment. Additional beneficial qualifications include proficiency with tax preparation software, strong numerical and analytical skills, and excellent written and verbal communication. An associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (e.g., EA, CPA) are a plus. Ability to work on-site full-time, manage multiple deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and provide respectful, client-focused service.
