In this energetic role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and compliant tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations. Your expertise will support clients in maximizing their tax benefits while ensuring adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis within a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and non-profit organizations. Conduct detailed tax research on issues such as estate planning, securities law, and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) to ensure accurate filings. Assist clients with tax planning strategies that align with current tax law changes and regulations. Maintain thorough documentation of all client interactions, tax positions taken, and supporting materials for audit readiness. Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial data using accounting software like QuickBooks or Sage; reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial statements. Stay current on developments in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory standards affecting tax compliance. Support audit processes by providing detailed reports and explanations of financial data; participate in internal audits related to regulatory compliance accounting. Skills Strong knowledge of tax law, individual and corporate tax reporting, and tax compliance procedures. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is highly desirable. Solid understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis. Expertise in financial concepts like asset management, budgeting, financial analysis, and interpretation of financial reports. Experience with estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law; familiarity with securities law and non-profit accounting is a plus. Excellent client communication skills; ability to explain complex financial information clearly and professionally. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail; capable of performing account reconciliation and financial statement preparation accurately.
