Purpose of Role Adjunct Income Tax Accounting instructor for Fall 2026 semester. Class is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning on Tues Sept 8th and concluding by Thurs Dec 17th. Course objectives are to instruct students to prepare individual tax returns including appropriate supplemental schedules, use a tax software package to prepare tax returns electronically, and apply basic tax planning procedures. The class concludes with IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance training.
Specific areas of coverage include:
tax formula, tax determination, gross income, exclusions, deductions and losses, itemized deductions, investor losses, and property transactions. Class is currently slated for 2:30 - 3:50 on Tues/Thurs, however, could be rescheduled to begin later in 80 minute blocks on Tues/Thurs or possibly just one 2-hour-forty-minute block on Tues.
