Responsibilities Prepare individual, business, and estate tax returns with precision and attention to detail, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and general ledger accounts to accurately report income, deductions, and credits. Assist clients with estate planning strategies, wills, trusts, and estate law considerations to optimize their financial outcomes. Conduct thorough audits of client records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools to verify accuracy. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare financial reports including income statements and balance sheets. Interpret complex financial concepts like GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and securities law to ensure regulatory compliance. Support clients in financial planning, budgeting, investment analysis, and asset management to help achieve their long-term goals. Requirements Proven experience in tax preparation combined with a strong background in accounting or finance; familiarity with tax software is essential. Knowledge of advanced financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting standards. Familiarity with estate planning tools such as wills and trusts; experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial reports and conduct detailed account analysis. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client files efficiently while maintaining accuracy. Certification or coursework related to accounting (e.g., CPA) or tax experience is highly desirable.
