Tax Preparer (EA, CPA, or Experienced Preparer) Silver Spring Financial - Rexburg, Idaho Starting at $28 per hour depending on experience and credentials Full‑time or 30-40 hrs/week About Us Silver Spring Financial is a growing full‑service accounting firm specializing in wealth management, financial advisory, and tax and accounting services. For candidates not yet credentialed, EA sponsorship is available to those who demonstrate commitment, accountability, and a strong desire for professional advancement. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate individual and business tax returns, including returns with business activity, rental properties, investments, K‑1s, and multi‑state filings Communicate professionally with clients regarding missing documents, outstanding items, and return status Review prior‑year returns and client documentation for completeness and accuracy Identify and implement basic tax planning strategies to help clients minimize tax liabilities Explain tax planning strategies to clients in clear, understandable terms to support informed decision‑making Assist with tax planning tasks, including preparing estimated tax payment calculations based on prior‑year data Apply general accounting principles to support broader firm operations Work efficiently in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop (preferred), UltraTax, and cloud‑based systems Maintain organized workpapers, documentation, and clear notes to support review and continuity Assist with compiled and reviewed financial statements and payroll processes as needed Contribute to a professional, supportive team environment and adapt to evolving processes Demonstrate ownership of assigned work and respond constructively to feedback Requirements 3-5 years of hands‑on tax preparation experience Strong understanding of general accounting concepts Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel Clear, professional written and verbal communication Ability to communicate professionally through remote platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment Interest in pursuing the EA credential if not already licensed Preferred Qualifications QuickBooks Desktop experience UltraTax experience Payroll processing knowledge Experience with compiled or reviewed financial statements EA or CPA credential
Location :
Rexburg, Idaho (In‑office preferred; hybrid/remote possible) This position is ideally in‑office. Hybrid or fully remote flexibility may be offered to candidates who are proven self‑starters, maintain consistent accountability, and can provide references confirming successful prior remote work.
Position Details Schedule:
30-40 hours per week; overtime may be required during tax season
