Position Summary:
We are seeking a Tax Preparer to oversee tax compliance, strategic planning, and quality control across our client base. Advise clients on tax strategies, compliance, and planning opportunities. Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations to minimize liabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation, review, and finalization of complex tax returns (1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 1065) and oversee staff-level preparers. Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to clients, including high-net-worth families, closely held businesses, trusts, and estates. Ensure tax filings meet all compliance requirements, internal standards, and deadlines. Interface with attorneys, fiduciaries, and investment advisors as part of integrated client service. Serve as the primary point of contact for client tax matters and IRS/state correspondence. Contribute to operational efficiency and quality improvement initiatives within the firm.
Qualifications:
Active CPA or Enrolled Agent license 3+ years of progressive tax experience in tax consulting or accounting. Strong analytical and research skills. Deep understanding of federal and state tax codes, including fiduciary, individual, and closely held business taxation. Experience with UltraTax, or comparable tax software, plus strong Excel and QuickBooks proficiency. Professional demeanor, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and uncompromising ethical standards.
