Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer to join our dynamic accounting team. In this vital role, you will manage comprehensive bookkeeping functions, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, and prepare tax filings for diverse clients, including non-profit organizations, small businesses, and governmental entities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical accounting skills in a fast-paced environment while supporting clients through meticulous bookkeeping and tax preparation processes. Starting pay is dependent on personal experience with potential for growth. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the accounting software, QuickBooks. Perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to ensure data integrity Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage payroll functions Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting in accordance with GAAP standards Assist in budgeting processes and provide detailed financial report writing for internal and client review Handle tax preparation tasks for individuals, small businesses, non-profits, and governmental agencies with attention to detail and compliance requirements Support account reconciliation efforts by reviewing debits & credits, performing 10 key typing tasks, and ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows efficiently while maintaining thorough documentation of all transactions Utilize technical accounting knowledge to support governmental accounting standards and ensure adherence to relevant regulations Contribute to the preparation of audit documentation and assist with tax filings by gathering necessary financial data Experience Proven experience working with accounting, QuickBooks. Familiarity with payroll processing, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger management Knowledge of tax preparation procedures for various entity types with demonstrated accuracy in tax filings Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation tasks including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis Excellent organizational skills with experience handling multiple accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Prior experience in public accounting or working directly with clients on bookkeeping or tax-related services is preferred
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
