Job Title:
Bank Teller - Mableton, GA- Job Description
- This role focuses on providing members and prospective members with a comprehensive range of banking products and services, including depository accounts such as current, savings, certificate, IRA, revocable trust and estate accounts, as well as lending products and credit/debit cards.
- Responsibilities
- Analyse, research and resolve problems and discrepancies related to member accounts and loans, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Assist members with submitting applications for consumer, mortgage and equity loans, overdraft protection and credit cards, providing clear explanations of terms and conditions.
- Counsel current and prospective members on available products and services, helping them select solutions that best meet their financial needs.
- Handle cash and other negotiable instruments accurately and securely, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and expand member use of products and services, contributing to increased product penetration.
- Perform a variety of platform banking functions, including opening and servicing accounts and processing transactions in line with branch standards.
- Provide assistance and informal training to level I team members, supporting their development and ensuring consistent service delivery.
- Understand and comply with federal and other regulations related to financial products and services, maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Assist with Branch Office vault opening, closing and balancing procedures when required, ensuring accurate reconciliation and security.
- Serve as a Branch Office and/or ATM vault custodian as needed, following all security and control protocols.
- Escort members to and from the branch in outdoor areas when necessary, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support branch operations and member service.
- Essential Skills
- Proven customer service experience, ideally in a banking or financial services environment.
- Experience in an inbound call centre or similar high-volume customer contact setting.
- Strong banking and finance awareness, with the ability to understand and explain financial products and services.
- Accurate data entry skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for everyday administrative and reporting tasks.
- Ability to handle cash and negotiable instruments securely and accurately.
- Sound understanding of federal and other regulations relating to financial products and services, or the ability to learn and apply these quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with members.
- Problem-solving skills to research, analyse and resolve account and loan discrepancies.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members in a customer-facing environment.
- Background in platform banking functions such as opening and servicing accounts.
- Familiarity with consumer, mortgage and equity loan processes, as well as overdraft protection and credit card products.
- Ability to identify cross-selling opportunities and promote additional products and services in a member-focused manner.
- Comfort working with branch vault and ATM procedures, including opening, closing and balancing activities.
- Capability to work both indoors and outdoors when escorting members to and from the branch.
