Description:
The Account Opening Specialist & Teller plays a dual role in providing exceptional customer service by assisting clients with opening new accounts and performing teller transactions. This position ensures customers' financial needs are met efficiently while maintaining compliance with bank policies and procedures. It requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of banking products, services, and transactions.Requirements:
Customer Interaction:
Greet customers warmly and professionally, providing personalized service. Assist clients in selecting and opening the appropriate account types (e.g., checking, savings, CDs) based on their financial goals. Explain account features, benefits, and associated fees.Account Opening:
Guide customers through the account opening process, ensuring accurate completion of all required forms and documentation. Verify customer identity and documentation in compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. Accurately input customer data into banking systems.Teller Services:
Process customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments, accurately and efficiently. Handle cash and checks, ensuring proper balancing of the cash drawer at the end of each shift. Issue cashier's checks, money orders, and other negotiable instruments. Respond to inquiries regarding account balances and transaction histories.Product Knowledge and Sales:
Stay informed about the bank's products, services, and promotions. Cross-sell banking products such as credit cards, loans, and insurance when appropriate. Educate customers about digital banking options and assist with enrollment.Compliance and Security:
Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Identify and escalate potential fraud, suspicious activities, or discrepancies. Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information.Customer Support:
Resolve customer inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience. Offer financial literacy resources and tools as needed.Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.Experience:
Previous experience in customer service, banking, or retail (preferred). Prior teller experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided.Skills and Competencies:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively. Proficiency with computer and banking software systems.
