POSITION SUMMARY
The Teller I accepts negotiable items and transaction requests from customers, records activity on customer accounts, and distributes or deposits money accordingly. He or She performs every transaction accurately with a friendly and inviting personality while promoting applicable bank products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service & Relationship Building Deliver Synergy Bank's standard of excellence in customer service during every customer interaction. Build and maintain positive customer relationships through courteous, professional, and efficient service. Identify customer needs and promote applicable bank products and services that enhance the customer's banking experience. Answer customer inquiries in person and by telephone in accordance with Synergy Bank's service standards. Resolve routine customer concerns while maintaining a positive and welcoming banking environment. Transaction Processing & Account Services Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and other financial transactions. Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts, examine endorsements, and enter transactions into applicable systems. Cash checks and process withdrawals after verifying customer identity, signatures, and account balances. Process ATM and night deposit transactions, loan payments, utility payments, IRA and HSA contributions, mail deposits, and other teller transactions. Prepare and verify official checks and other negotiable instruments. Place account holds in accordance with Regulation CC and bank procedures. Complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) accurately and within required timeframes. Compliance, Risk Management & Security Maintain the highest standards of honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct. Assist in protecting customers and the bank from fraud, counterfeit activity, elder financial exploitation, unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices, and other suspicious activities. Follow all bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Report suspicious activity, operational concerns, and equipment malfunctions promptly. Cash Handling & Operational Excellence Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance throughout the day and at the end of each shift. Verify cash totals against system-generated proof sheets and report discrepancies immediately. Count currency and coin accurately while maintaining established balancing standards. Ensure teller stations remain organized, secure, and properly stocked with required forms and supplies. Assist other departments and team members as requested by management. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism, cash-handling accuracy, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to building positive customer relationships. Previous experience in banking, retail, hospitality, sales, customer support, or supervisory positions is highly valued.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 6 months in customer service. Previous cash handling experience. High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while providing exceptional service to customers. Basic knowledge of banking products and services or a willingness to learn. Professional appearance and conduct consistent with Synergy Bank standards. Reliable transportation to and from work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates possessing one or more of the following qualifications are encouraged to apply: Associate Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related field. Previous customer service experience in banking, retail, hospitality, financial services, sales, or a service-oriented environment. Prior leadership, team lead, supervisory, or management experience. Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
