Monday-Friday, 7:50 AM-5:00 PM; some Fridays may run until 5:30 PM Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Member Service Representative I (Bank Teller) to join our Lafayette, LA credit union team. The Member Service Representative serves as a liaison between members and the credit union by providing accurate, efficient service both in person and by phone. This position assists members with daily transactions, account questions, new accounts, account maintenance, and information about credit union products and services. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential financial information professionally. Responsibilities Greet and welcome members and visitors in a professional and friendly manner. Process member transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide information about credit union services, policies, and procedures in person, by phone, email, and other electronic methods. Respond professionally to member questions, concerns, problems, and complaints, directing issues to the appropriate team member when necessary. Open new accounts and service existing member accounts. Set up new account files and provide members with necessary account and membership information. Process share transfers, loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, CD transactions, line-of-credit advances, and other member requests. Identify member needs and promote appropriate credit union products and services. Process member mail transactions. Mail receipts and checks to members as required by policy and procedure. Provide information regarding investment alternatives for members interested in depositing funds with the credit union. Research and resolve discrepancies involving deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. Assist members with balancing their accounts. Assist members with completing payroll deduction and direct deposit forms. Assist members with opening Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). Answer incoming phone calls and assist members with their requests. Maintain a professional, helpful, and member-focused attitude at all times. Qualifications Previous banking, credit union, teller, cash-handling, or customer service experience is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to handle confidential financial information. Comfortable working with computers and learning financial software. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. #insjRequirements:
