Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (No weekends currently)
Work Environment:
Onsite Overview We are seeking a customer-focused Teller to join a high-traffic branch in Brighton, MI. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in accuracy and service excellence. You will be responsible for handling daily financial transactions, supporting members with their banking needs, and maintaining operational efficiency within the branch. This position also provides opportunities to assist with back-office tasks, develop banking knowledge, and grow within a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Transactions Provide exceptional service to members and customers in both lobby and drive-thru settings Process a variety of transactions, including: Deposits and withdrawals Loan payments and advances Cashier's checks, money orders, and debit card issuance Credit card payments and cash advances Respond to member inquiries and direct them to appropriate departments when needed Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all interactions Cash Handling & Operations Balance and manage a cash drawer throughout the day with a high level of accuracy Verify cash, coin, and check transactions Prepare and process daily work, including: Night deposits and mail payments Check orders and statement requests Transaction verifications and account updates Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Branch Support & Administrative Tasks Assist with general branch operations, including: Data entry and filing Answering phones and responding to inquiries Ordering and stocking office supplies Preparing daily notices and documentation Support other departments (loans, accounting, member services, etc.) as needed Assist with onboarding and training of new team members Daily Workflow Rotate between lobby and drive-thru service areas Complete proactive administrative tasks during slower periods Participate in opening and closing procedures, including equipment setup and shutdown Training & Onboarding Hands-on, in-branch training with shadowing and guided learning Combination of practical experience and online training modules Training pace adjusted based on individual progress and comfort level Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Strong customer service and communication skills Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and general systems) High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality Dependable, organized, and able to work in a team environment Work Environment & Culture Fast-paced, high-volume branch with a large member base Collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere with strong leadership support Opportunity to build relationships with regular customers and community members Business casual dress code (occasional themed/dress-down days) Balanced workflow with both customer interaction and administrative responsibilities Benefits & Perks Competitive benefits package with low out-of-pocket costs 13 paid federal holidays 401(k) with employer contributions , including: 2% match Additional employer-funded contribution program Supportive, employee-focused culture with emphasis on growth and development Why This Role Matters This position plays a key role in delivering a positive customer experience and ensuring smooth daily operations within a busy branch.
