Job Description

Front Line Teller Purpose of Position Establish and maintain effective, professional business relations with members and co-workers while protecting member privacy. Provide a variety of paying and receiving functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, IRA and CD deposits and withdrawals, cashier's checks, money orders and cash advances. Balance daily transactions and verify cash totals. Update member account information. Perform specifically assigned tasks and assists others with a variety of duties as required. Duties and Responsibilities 1 . Understand and comply with all Security Policies, Federal and State Regulations and laws, particularly those relating to protection of member personal information; including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Efficient, effective and accurate performance of teller functions. Receive and process deposits and loan payments in person, by mail or night drop Process cash advances, cashier checks, money orders, government bonds and similar transactions Disburse cash or check withdrawals Process transfers Operate computer terminal. Process authorized transactions and balance cash drawer at end of each day Receive and accurately process credit union forms and documents Verify transactions, monitor deposit amounts and examine documents for endorsement and negotiability. Detect and resolve discrepancies. Answer telephones Ensure work area is clean, secure and well maintained Perform assigned duties as required Attend meetings and trainings as required Performance Measurements Performance is measured by: Accuracy of teller functions and balancing record Records that are accurate and complete Compliance with established policies, standards and security procedures Member focus and member relations Quality of working relationships with all staff, including management Communication, both written and verbal Professionalism in the degree in which one projects a positive image and adheres to policies regarding professionalism in dress, conduct and communication. Training responsiveness and achievement through continued education as required

Qualifications:
Education/Certification High school graduate or equivalent Required Experience 2 years' cash-handling experience preferred Skills and Abilities Professional appearance and demeanor Desire for full understanding of all aspects of job Excellent problem-solving skills Experience in Microsoft Suite
  • Outlook, Word and Excel primarily Ability to effectively and efficiently operate related computer applications and equipment
