Job Description
As a Teller, this position is full time reporting within both of our branches in Muskegon and Spring Lake! Do you want to make a difference in someone's life? And have the passion for helping people! Come work at Best Financial Credit Union!!! Best Financial has an exciting opportunity as a Teller. We are looking for outgoing, energetic candidates. The selected candidate as a Member Service Representative/Teller will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Provides friendly, courteous and efficient service to members.
- Opens and closes their workstation daily.
- Accounts for assigned cash and proper dollar restrictions per drawer, which includes but is not limited to, drawer maximums, proper bait retention, and cash organization within drawers.
- Provides accurate member transactions maintaining a balancing and accuracy record of at least 95%.
- Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.
- Negotiates checks after verification of signatures and member balances/account status.
- Enters member transactions in computer to record transactions and issues receipts.
- Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds and abides by BFCU's check hold policies and procedures.
- Utilizes cash recyclers and dispenser to limit cash in and out of teller drawer; maintains appropriate balances in cash drawer at all time to ensure the best possible member service.
- Balances currency, coin, and checks at the end of every shift.
- Opens new sub shares and closes accounts as needed.
- Occasionally assists in the removal of deposits from, and counts and balances cash in, automated teller machines (ATM) and night depository.
- Processing of daily mail payments.
- Accepts loan and credit card payments.
- Assists members with account inquiries.
- General understanding of loan and member service programs.
- Provides member confidence by maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Responsible for meeting monthly sales goals as established by management.
