Job Description
Job Summary The Teller is responsible for accurately processing customer transactions while maintaining precise records of cash and negotiable instruments in accordance with Greenville Federal procedures and regulatory requirements. This role delivers exceptional customer service to both new and existing customers in a fast-paced banking environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused with strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately. This position requires excellent cash handling skills, adherence to bank policies and procedures, and a professional demeanor at all times. Some Saturday hours are required. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Account Management Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone; serve as a positive role model for team members. Respond to basic customer inquiries regarding accounts, transactions, and banking services Handle customer concerns, complaints, and special requests professionally, escalate when needed. Retain and grow existing customer relationships. Teller & Transaction Processing Receive and process checking and savings deposits, ensuring accuracy of cash, checks, and endorsements. Process withdrawals, loan payments, and other account transactions. Verify funds availability and apply appropriate holds in accordance with bank policy and regulations. Cash checks accurately by verifying identification, endorsements, and validity. Issue receipts and maintain accurate records of all transactions. Balance cash drawer daily and reconcile any discrepancies promptly. Sales & Referral Support Identify opportunities to refer customers to appropriate bank personnel for deposit, loan, or other financial service needs. Support branch growth by referring potential cross-sell opportunities to Relationship Bankers. Participate in team efforts to support overall branch goals and customer satisfaction. Operations & Compliance Follow all Greenville Federal policies, procedures, and security standards. Maintain compliance with CTR and other regulatory requirements as applicable. Complete required training modules on time. Support proper handling and security of cash, checks, and customer information. Assist with ATM or cash handling equipment as assigned. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior cash handling or customer service experience preferred. Banking experience helpful but not required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong customer service and communication skills. Accurate and efficient cash handling ability. Basic computer and data entry skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Professional appearance and demeanor.
