Full Job Description Description:
Evergreen Armored, a subsidiary company of Maps Credit Union, seeks a full-time Coin Teller to provide efficient, timely, and accurate processing and distribution of coin for the organization at our Kent, Washington branch. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy and security. Requirements:
General Operations Maintain custody, control, and security of all coin vault items. Receive, verify, document and account for coin vault items. Sort, count, and reconcile coin utilizing approved equipment, scales, and processing procedures. Execute daily coin vault operations including inventory management, client fulfillment, balancing, and Federal Reserve shipments. Coordinate and oversee the secure transfer of coin between Evergreen depot locations, ensuring accurate documentation, chain-of-custody compliance, and timely movement of funds to support operational requirements. Identify and report discrepancies, shortages, overages, damaged coin, or inventory variances promptly. Complete and record daily coin vault balancing in accordance with company policy Perform all coin vault activities in accordance with dual-control procedures, chain-of-custody requirements, and established security protocols. Security and Compliance Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with the Federal Reserve Bank, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance related policies. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and protect Evergreen operations by keeping negotiable instruments, cash, keys and member or Financial Institutions information secure at all times. Professional Knowledge and Development Maintain workflow by cooperating with co-workers and providing necessary information to the appropriate people. Enhance job performance by applying up to date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending training sessions and reviewing professional publications. Participate in developing strategies for achieving logistic and customer goals.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work areas are in a secure environment with heavy background noise, and little to no outside exposure. Warehouse environment with temperature fluctuation. Position involves exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, e.g., robbery. Position may require extended hours (applies to full-time and part-time schedules).
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Sitting/Standing/Walking:
Approximately 90% of the time is spent standing or moving around work areas. Balance of time (approximately 10%) is spent sitting while working at a desk area.
Speaking/Hearing:
Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary for effective communication with co-workers, members, and outside agencies, by telephone and in person.
Vision:
Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary to use computers, handheld scanners effectively, and interpret written information.
Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling:
The ability to lift carry and push up to fifty pounds repetitively is necessary for transporting liability.
Operate Equipment:
The ability to operate a manual pallet jack, assisted pallet jack, and forklift.
Stooping/Kneeling:
The ability to stoop and kneel is necessary for accessing vault and currency.
Reaching/Handling:
Good manual dexterity is necessary for computer keyboard use and for retrieving and working with appropriate paperwork, equipment, and supplies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to perform accurate counting, balancing, reconciliation, and variance analysis. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, over the phone, and via computer or other electronic means. Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from customers and the general public. Skill and ability to meet people and listen. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret operational documents, policies, and regulations. Ability to take the initiative and prioritize tasks; good-time management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills. Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing software applications and e-mail. Strong organizational skills. Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent. At least 21 years of age. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Must meet the credit history standards set by Maps Credit Union. Minimum of one year of experience in the financial industry, security, or the equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum of two years of cash handling. Strong knowledge of Currency Processing and Bank Operation for processing procedures is preferred. Requires the availability to work Monday - Saturday hours. Must be bondable.
Starting non-exempt pay range:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Full non-exempt pay range:
$24.09 - $36.13 per hour.
Typical Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts that typically begin around 7:00 AM.
