Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Controller to lead financial operations within our manufacturing facility. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to oversee all aspects of financial management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving strategic financial initiatives. As a key member of the leadership team, the Plant Controller will champion accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and efficient cash and cost management processes. Duties Manage all plant accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Oversee regulatory compliance accounting, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and governmental reporting requirements. Conduct detailed cost accounting analysis to monitor production costs, identify variances, and support budgeting and forecasting efforts. Supervise the financial close process, ensuring timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Collaborate with finance teams on treasury management activities such as cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity optimization. Utilize advanced spreadsheets, Excel data analysis techniques, and financial software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for accurate data management. Lead and develop the accounting team by providing mentorship, training on technical accounting principles—including non-profit and governmental accounting—and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Extensive experience in financial accounting within manufacturing or industrial environments; public accounting experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance, and regulatory reporting standards. Proven expertise in managing accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent software platforms. Demonstrated ability in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting analysis. Experience managing accounting teams with a focus on technical accounting accuracy and process efficiency. Proficiency in spreadsheet tools—Excel data analysis—and financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation. Knowledge of governmental or non-profit accounting practices is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for financial report writing and presenting complex data clearly to stakeholders.
