Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Comptroller to manage the daily financial, accounting, and reporting functions of our growing commercial construction company. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, improving internal controls, and managing cash flow. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction accounting, including job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting. Experience with Sage CRE is a plus. Key Responsibilities Assist in all accounting operations including: General ledger Accounts payable & receivable Payroll Manage job costing systems to ensure accurate tracking of project performance and profitability Help prepare and maintain: Monthly financial statements Work-in-progress (WIP) schedules Cash flow projections Analyze project margins, overhead, and cost structures to identify opportunities for improved profitability Manage and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures Maintain banking relationships, including: Line of credit oversight Draw schedules Financial compliance Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of accounting experience, with construction industry experience preferred Strong knowledge of: Job costing WIP reporting Percentage-of-completion accounting Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage CRE 300) Strong understanding of: AIA billing Retainage Project-based financial tracking Proven ability to implement process improvements and internal controls Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health benefits Paid time off 401
