Job Description

Southern Brothers Construction is looking to add a Controller to the team due to our substantial growth and opportunities. Controller Job Description — Duties & Responsibilities
TEAM LEADERSHIP
Lead and assist the accounting staff in their daily activities
CASH FLOW & TREASURY MANAGEMENT
Monitor and manage daily cash position Weekly AP run Weekly AR report to Operations team Bi-weekly working capital reporting Manage the line of credit weekly Weekly billing forecast update with the executive team
FINANCIAL REPORTING
Monthly financial reporting to executive team and third parties as needed, for all active entities: Prior knowledge with Sage Accounting and Procore software ◦ Budget-to-actual income statement ◦ Balance sheet ◦ Statement of cash flows ◦ WIP reports ◦ Project profitability reports ◦ Monthly summary packet compilation Ad hoc financial reports for management and executive team
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
Assist project teams with finance-related data for bid preparation Perform "what if" analysis on project and bid scenarios
BUDGETING & PLANNING
Lead the annual budgeting function: ◦ Financial budget for each company ◦ Planned capital expenditures ◦ Staffing/payroll planning
RISK, COMPLIANCE & INSURANCE
Lead and manage third-party CPA reviews/audits annually Monitor and manage commercial insurance policies and coverage (GL, Workers' Comp, Auto, Crime, Cyber, Bonding) Monitor and manage employee benefits plans (401(k), medical, voluntary insurance)
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Monitor effectiveness of financial processes and implement improvements as needed
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Maintain working relationships with banks, insurance companies, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
ADDITIONAL OVERSIGHT
Oversee the IT function across all companies: ◦ Monitor effectiveness of technology systems ◦ Approve the acquisition of hardware and software
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
