A Vice President or Director of Finance manages the daily financial activities of a company or organization. Oversees accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivables and payables, and financial administration.
$150,000 base + bonus Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join a growing, privately held company in Gilbert, Arizona. This is a newly created position that will serve as the organization's senior finance leader and work closely with executive leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys both the strategic and hands-on sides of finance. The Director of Finance will help strengthen the company's financial infrastructure, improve reporting and visibility, and provide the analysis and insights needed to support better business decisions and long-term growth. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working in the details, and experienced in an environment where they have had broad responsibility across finance and accounting. Key Responsibilities Lead the company's overall finance and accounting function Own budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and financial reporting Develop financial models and provide analysis to support strategic decision-making Analyze profitability, margins, pricing, costs, and overall financial performance Provide visibility into project-level financial performance and profitability Oversee accounting operations, including month-end close, general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, and financial statements Strengthen financial controls, policies, and processes Develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting tools, and data quality Partner with leadership on long-term financial planning and business strategy Oversee banking relationships, cash management, insurance, tax, and other financial matters Work cross-functionally to improve financial discipline and operational performance Qualifications 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Finance, or similar senior finance leader Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and cash-flow management Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn financial data into actionable business insights Experience with project accounting, job costing, cost accounting, or project-based financial analysis strongly preferred Experience analyzing profitability, pricing, margins, and operational performance Demonstrated success improving financial systems, processes, reporting, or controls Comfortable working in a smaller organization and remaining hands-on when needed Strong communication skills and the confidence to partner directly with executive leadership Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA and/or MBA preferred What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is confident without ego, analytical, practical, collaborative, and willing to roll up their sleeves. Compensation:
Target base salary of approximately $150,000 plus bonus, with some flexibility based on experience.
