Our proprietary processes are designed to deliver high-quality graphite products with a strong emphasis on efficiency, scalability, and performance. The Company operates a pilot-scale facility in Mesa, Arizona and is advancing its technology toward commercial deployment in North America. In support of our development strategy, Allied Graphite maintains a long-term supply relationship with Graphcoa, a graphite developer in Brazil also backed by Appian, providing a consistent source of natural flake graphite concentrate to support planned commercial operations. ABOUT THE ROLE
Allied Graphite is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Financial Controller to build and lead the company's financial infrastructure through a pivotal period of growth, capital raising, and public market readiness. Reporting to the CFO, you will own accounting, controls, and controllership while also driving the financial workstreams that support Allied Graphite's transition from pilot operations in Mesa to its first greenfield commercial facility. This is a hands-on and strategic role in equal measure, suited to someone who can run the close process personally while also sitting in the room for IPO prep and government financing discussions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the accounting function, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Oversee all general ledger activities, reconciliations, and journal entries Establish and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury processes Support ERP implementation, ensuring proper integration of procurement, operations, and finance workflows Oversee preparation of management reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, tax regulations, and audit requirements; manage relationships with external auditors and advisors Partner with the CFO and FP&A team to provide insight into financial performance, budgets, and long-term forecasts Build and mentor a small accounting team, setting high standards for accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 8-15
years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or capital-intensive sectors Experience at an audit and accounting firm and CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred Proven ability to design and enforce internal controls and financial governance in a scaling business Hands-on experience with ERP systems (or ERP implementations), with strong Excel and analytical skills Demonstrated ability to prepare GAAP and IFRS-compliant financial statements and manage external audits Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally Comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with multiple competing priorities
