full-time About the Company A growing, privately held wealth management firm is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting function and serve as a financial partner to executive leadership. About the Role This role will own the accuracy and integrity of the firm's financials while strengthening processes, controls, reporting, and financial visibility as the organization continues to grow. Responsibilities Oversee general ledger, journal entries, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash-flow reporting. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary liaison with external CPA and audit firms for annual audits, tax filings, and quarterly reviews. Partner with the C-Suite on financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis. Review advisor compensation calculations and payout reconciliations for accuracy. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, risks, and opportunities. Partner with operations on vendor contracts, financial projects, and initiatives impacting operational efficiency. Qualifications Strong experience with full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close. Solid knowledge of GAAP, AP/AR, reconciliations, and internal controls. Experience supporting external audits, tax preparation, and CPA relationships. Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling capabilities. Advanced Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks or a comparable accounting system. Ability to communicate effectively with executives and operational leaders. Wealth management, financial services, or professional-services experience preferred. A hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to operate strategically.
