POSITION SUMMARY
Perform supervisory and accounting duties under the direction of the Corporate Controller, following specific instructions and well-defined procedures. Performs a variety of accounting duties to support finance and accounting functions in accordance with
GAAP. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare and enter monthly Journal Entries and Financial Statements and all related work papers including support for the balance sheet and income statements. Maintaining and reconciling the divisional general ledger, accounts payable sub-ledger, sales ledger, and accounts receivable. Prepare and file multistate taxes, business licenses, and compliances. Maintaining and reconciling Fixed Assets. Ensuring timely and accurate daily reporting of the divisional revenues. Supervise and/or process vendor's invoices (accounts payable) on a timely basis. Entering and posting vendor invoices and addressing vendor disputes. Manage and/or assist in the processing of multistate payroll and answering payroll inquiries. Maintaining employee files in payroll software. Manage and/or assist in processing human resource paperwork. Reviewing health insurance bills and employee deductions for accuracy. Management of several Accounting Staff members Ensure that receivables are collected promptly by making customer collection calls to ensure timely collections. Bank Reconciliation of all bank accounts for assigned divisions. Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested by divisional management and corporation. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system. Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.

Meets corporate standards for attendance and timeliness. Maintains effective working relationships and acts in a manner most beneficial to the company. Demonstrates knowledge of all company products and services. All other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS
  • College Degree or a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experienced in data input
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Accounting products and Excel preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains a Plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets preferred
  • Experience in multi-state taxes, business licenses and payroll preferred

This position is primarily an office-oriented position that requires sitting for extended periods of time and using the telephone (with a headset), computer monitor and keyboard. Requires delivery of faxes and mail to various offices. From time to time requires climbing a flight of stairs to access stored records. Occasionally it requires lifting up to 25 pounds.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
