Job Description

Construction Controller Family-Owned General Contractor | Second-Generation Leadership A well-established, family-owned General Contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Controller to join its leadership team. With second-generation ownership, a strong reputation in the market, and a stable pipeline of work, this company offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a collaborative, family-oriented culture. The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations, providing accurate reporting, supporting project teams, and helping guide the company's continued growth. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations Prepare monthly internal financial statements and management reports Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow management Monitor project financial performance and collaborate with operations teams Lead month-end and year-end close processes Maintain and improve accounting controls, procedures, and reporting systems Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and financial partners Support executive leadership with financial analysis and decision-making Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of accounting leadership experience within construction Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, project accounting, and construction financials Experience with Sage 300 required Procore experience strongly preferred Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work closely with ownership and operations teams in a collaborative environment Compensation & Benefits Performance-based bonus opportunity 100% employer-paid health insurance Full benefits package Paid time off and holidays Long-term stability with a respected family-owned contractor Opportunity to work directly with ownership and influence company growth
