Controller Job Description This role involves overseeing all accounting operations, payroll, compliance, and financial controls for a construction company. The controller will manage treasury operations, monthly financial close processes, accounts payable and receivable oversight, transaction privilege tax (TPT) taxes, Builders Risk and workers' compensation compliance, payroll and benefits reporting, vendor payments, certificate of insurance audits, and maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks. Additionally, the role includes managing PTO tracking, vehicle asset balances, and supporting project teams through Procore. Responsibilities Oversee treasury management and daily financial operations. Understand and ensure compliance with Builders Risk through monthly audits. Manage and track PTO and sick pay. Oversee vehicle balances and management. Ensure compliance with workers' compensation documentation and audits. Manage payroll, including reporting and 401K contributions. Conduct insurance and census tracking. Perform certificate of insurance audits. Review accounts payable and receivable weekly. Process TPT taxes on a monthly basis. Manage waivers in collaboration with staff. Oversee QuickBooks management, ensuring accurate tracking and implementation of materials for profit and loss and balance sheets. Close books monthly. Ensure familiarity with Procore and support project teams accordingly. Process vendor payments efficiently. Essential Skills Expertise in accounting and financial management. Proficiency with Procore and QuickBooks. Strong understanding of construction industry operations. At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Management skills to lead financial operations effectively. Work Environment The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, focusing on supporting construction projects with precision and efficiency. The role requires familiarity with modern accounting software and project management tools to streamline processes and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Tucson, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
