What You'll Do:
As the Controller, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team and oversee all aspects of the company's financial management, including:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
Lead all accounting and financial operations across multiple business units. Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans. Create financial models, business analyses, and multi-year projections to support strategic decision-making. Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership. Analyze business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and all applicable financial reporting requirements. Oversee federal and state tax compliance and coordinate with external accounting firms. Manage lender reporting requirements and ensure compliance with loan covenants. Partner with auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.
Treasury & Risk Management:
Oversee cash flow planning, treasury functions, and liquidity management. Evaluate financial risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies. Ensure adequate insurance coverage and risk management practices are maintained.
Process Improvement & Team Leadership:
Enhance accounting systems, policies, procedures, and internal controls. Lead financial systems improvements and reporting enhancements. Develop and mentor accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across all accounting functions.
Operational Excellence:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable business insights. Identify cost-saving opportunities and support resource optimization efforts. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity in handling financial, payroll, and banking information. Support organizational initiatives and strategic projects as a member of the leadership team. What We're Looking For -
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Experience leading accounting teams and driving process improvements. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executives and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA certification, MBA, or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, food and beverage, or the wine industry. Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory valuation methodologies. Experience with ERP and financial management systems; AMS and AgStar experience is a plus. Familiarity with the seasonal cash flow, operational cycles, and business dynamics of agricultural operations. Why LangeTwins? $140,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
