JOB DESCRIPTION
Oh So Original, Inc. is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to oversee the accounting and payroll departments of hotel properties. The Director of Finance will provide day-to-day guidance to the team and ensure a timely and accurate reporting of the monthly financial statements to the Executive Team.  Schedule and coordinate the preparation and presentation of the annual operating budget.  Prepares monthly hotel financial statement package in accordance with USALI and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Ensure entries required for preparation of the financial statements are completed by the accounting team. Review statements for inaccurate data and make corrections within the following period.  Present monthly financial statements with actual vs budget variance, and current period vs prior period variance, to the Executive Team. Manage communication across departments to obtain variance explanations.  Ensure accounting records are in accordance with USALI and GAAP.  Provide guidance and oversight to the Property Controller and work closely with the hotel accounting team.  Ensure bank reconciliations are completed daily and maintain effective cash control systems with internal audits and reports.  Review payroll entries for accuracy.  Prepare labor cost and hospitality specific analysis as requested. Formulate practical solutions from cost vs benefit viewpoint.  Monitor cash positions and ensure cash forecast is completed on a weekly basis.  Ensure teams are following the month-end close process and accounts are properly reconciled. Alert CAO to inconsistencies and issues.  Review Accounts Receivable Aging monthly ensuring timely collection and understanding of late accounts.  Review Accounts Payable Aging ensuring vendor payments and understanding of vendor issues.  Work with Department Managers to control inventory balances according to established realistic par levels.  Review security over assets and audit inventories.  Assist managers in analyzing financial statements and meeting budgets.  Ensure compliance with financial and accounting practices, procedures, and policies.  Understanding of all pertinent leases, contracts, agreements, covenants, and restrictions.  Knowledge of City, County, State sales tax laws and laws dealing with innkeepers, liquor, and labor.  Skilled at correcting deficiencies on internal audits and issues that arise.  Establish an effective cross training program within the department.  Perform special projects as assigned. Experience, Skills and Knowledge  B.S. in Accounting or Finance  10+ years' experience in Hospitality related Finance and Accounting  Comprehensive knowledge of USALI and GAAP  Experience with Fairmas or similar budgeting and forecasting application  Experience with Opera Cloud or similar property management system  Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting, payroll and timekeeping system  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  Strong leadership and managerial skills  Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with tact and diplomacy  Excellent ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and with proper professionalism  Excellent writing skills and exceptional attention to details  Self-motivated, disciplined and flexible with ability to adapt to change  Commitment to high professional ethical standards  Impeccable ability to maintain confidentiality
