Job Overview The Controller will fully manage the Accounting department staff while working closely with other departments, vendors, and customers. We are seeking a candidate with broad accounting experience across the full accounting cycle, including Financial Statements, Account Analysis, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Sales Taxes, Payroll and Labor Law compliance, Employee Benefits administration, Property Taxes, 1099 reporting, and liability insurance administration and applications. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience and the ability to develop professional working relationships with personnel in each support function. We are looking for someone with a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration with vendors, customers, and other departments. Key Responsibilities 1. Fully manage the Accounting department staff and daily accounting operations 2. Prepare and oversee monthly Financial Statements and related Account Analysis 3. Manage company Cash Management functions and monitor cash flow 4. Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities 5. Supervise daily postings and accounting transactions through the General Ledger 6. Ensure timely and accurate Sales Tax reporting, deposits, and exemption documentation 7. Oversee Payroll processing and maintain compliance with payroll and labor laws 8. Administer Employee Benefits related accounting and coordination tasks 9. Prepare and file Property Tax reports and related documentation 10. Manage 1099 reporting and year-end reporting requirements 11. Oversee liability insurance administration, applications, and renewals 12. Coordinate with management on accounting reports, financial data, and special reporting needs 13. Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with vendors, customers, and internal departments 14. Support continuous improvement of accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting accuracy Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience Experience managing the full accounting cycle through Financial Statement preparation Strong knowledge of Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Sales Tax processes Experience with payroll laws, labor law compliance, and employee-related accounting processes Supervisory or accounting team leadership experience Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments Preferred Experience in a service, manufacturing, or distribution environment Experience with employee benefits administration and insurance-related processes Knowledge of project-based accounting and job costing Experience improving internal controls and accounting workflows CPA or advanced accounting certification preferred but not required Benefits 401(k), Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
