Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a growing company in Commerce, Georgia in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This onsite position is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who can oversee day-to-day financial operations while strengthening reporting accuracy, compliance, and internal controls. The role will work closely with leadership, support a small accounting team, and help build reliable processes that scale with the business.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycle to deliver complete and accurate financial reporting on schedule.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and related disclosures in alignment with U.S. accounting standards.
  • Supervise general ledger activity and verify that financial transactions are recorded correctly across all major accounts.
  • Partner with business leadership on budgets, forecasts, and financial variance reviews to support informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate technical accounting issues, document conclusions, and recommend appropriate treatment to company leadership.
  • Lead cost accounting and inventory oversight, including valuation methods, reserve analysis, and supporting audit documentation.
  • Manage core accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury activity, and regulatory filings.
  • Maintain employer tax accounts and oversee required state and federal filings to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Strengthen internal controls, refine accounting procedures, and support improvements to systems, including the transition from Global Shop to Sispro.
  • Serve as the main contact for external auditors while coaching and overseeing accounting staff, including direct reports responsible for AP and AR.
