SUMMARY Prepare and present financial statements. Plan, direct, or coordinate accounting services of the organization. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, and revenues. Ensure accounting controls are maintained and follow best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Assigned Tasks Prepare and present of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies. Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Establish chart of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice. Assist in the development of internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting. Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards. Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed. Monitor financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met. Provide internal audit services to review organizational units accounting related records. Learn and utilize data mining and accounting and ERP report writing software. Assist in the development, testing and implementation of custom software to improve accounting accuracy and/or productivity. Managerial Responsibilities Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and budgeting duties. Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control. Set goals, action items, and deadlines for accounting department. Perform annual SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis for managed departments. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related subject
  • Crop accounting, forage and seed processing accounting knowledge
  • 3 years accounting management experience
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Availability to travel to Mexicali, Mexico
  • Provide personal mobile and home phone number
