Assistant Controller

Amanda Warren is looking for an Assistant Controller to join a distribution company based in Sacramento, California. This role is integral to managing daily accounting operations, ensuring precise financial reporting, and enhancing internal processes. The Assistant Controller will oversee a team of accounting staff, collaborate with various departments, and contribute to the company's overall financial strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and develop a team of accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering attention to detail.
• Manage the full-cycle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations while supporting audits and maintaining strong internal controls.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost accounting and inventory management.
• Oversee capital expenditure tracking, fixed asset schedules, and depreciation activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, streamlining workflows, and enhancing data accuracy.
• Support system optimization initiatives, including automation and standardization across multiple entities.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to leadership to aid in decision-making and performance evaluation.
• Partner with corporate finance to consolidate subsidiary financial results into broader organizational reporting.
