Job Description
Selby Jennings is partnering with a Middle Market Investment Banking firm with multiple locations across the US. They are looking to add an Investment Banking Vice President with Software M&A experience in their Menlo Park office to work on transactions ranging from $250MM-3Bn+. This office is home to many of the Senior Leaders within the business, and is know for having a strong team comprised of amicable, sharp, and diverse individuals with a track record of success. Ideal Candidates are current Investment Banking Vice Presidents with experience across Software and are currently in, or open to relocating to San Francisco Bay Area. Key Responsibilities Lead day‑to‑day execution of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions within the Software sector. Manage complex financial models, valuation analyses, operating forecasts, and transaction materials. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during live engagements, providing strategic insights and industry‑specific guidance. Oversee and mentor Analysts and Associates, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and professional development. Conduct detailed industry research, competitive benchmarking, and thematic analysis related to Software. Support business development by preparing pitch materials, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to long‑term client coverage strategies. Qualifications 5-7+ years of Investment Banking experience. Direct experience in Software or related verticals strongly preferred. Demonstrated track record executing M&A and capital markets transactions. Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills with the ability to manage complex workstreams independently. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface directly with senior management teams and institutional investors. Proven leadership capabilities, including developing junior bankers and managing high‑pressure execution environments. Bachelor's degree required. If there's interest, don't hesitate to apply!
