What You'll Do As Controller, you'll oversee the company's financial operations and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
Responsibilities include:
Lead all accounting and finance functions while ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, borrowing base reporting, compliance certificates, and lender reporting. Prepare financial statements and coordinate external audits. Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting. Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and financial analyses that support business decisions. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements. Oversee payroll processing and partner with Human Resources on retirement plans, employee benefits, and annual open enrollment. Support commercial teams with pricing analysis, profitability reporting, and financial insights. Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, manufacturing reporting, and work order analysis. Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies. Manage insurance, business licenses, risk management activities, and regulatory compliance. Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, auditors, and outside service providers. Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Support executive leadership with strategic planning, financial modeling, and special projects. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who is equally comfortable working with financial details and high-level business strategy. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Five or more years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Manufacturing, food manufacturing, agriculture, or industrial accounting experience. Experience with ERP systems, cost accounting, and inventory management.
