In this pivotal role, you will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and drive financial strategy to support the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and preparing comprehensive financial reports that inform decision-making and uphold transparency. Responsibilities Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and adherence to organizational policies. Prepare and review regulatory reports, financial statements, and management reports that accurately reflect the hospital's financial position. Conduct cash management activities, including forecasting cash flow needs and optimizing liquidity to support operational requirements. Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, account analysis, and technical accounting adjustments. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to facilitate smooth audit processes. Utilize accounting software platforms to streamline financial operations and improve reporting efficiency. Support budgeting processes by analyzing variances, forecasting future financial performance, and providing insights for strategic planning. Maintain rigorous internal controls to safeguard hospital assets and ensure compliance with governmental regulations specific to non-profit healthcare organizations. Requirements Proven experience in governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or healthcare finance environments is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance standards, and regulatory reporting requirements. Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, debits & credits, and general ledger management. Proficiency with accounting software and experience with financial management tools are essential. Excellent financial analysis skills coupled with the ability to prepare clear and comprehensive financial reports. Experience managing accounts payable/receivable functions along with payroll processing within a hospital setting. Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation accurately while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines. Strong understanding of cash management strategies, forecasting techniques, and budget development processes. Exceptional organizational skills combined with effective communication abilities for collaboration across departments.
