Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for our Moreno Valley, California location. This onsite position is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who brings strong manufacturing accounting expertise and can translate financial data into practical guidance for operational leaders. The role will oversee core accounting activities, strengthen reporting accuracy, and provide insight into production costs, build economics, and overall business performance.
Responsibilities:
- Direct day-to-day accounting activities for the Moreno Valley, California operation, ensuring complete and accurate financial oversight across the full accounting cycle.
- Lead monthly close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
- Produce timely financial reports and maintain high standards for compliance, consistency, and reporting integrity.
- Collaborate with site leadership to evaluate manufacturing and construction-related costs, including build expenses and the financial effects of changing material and operating costs.
- Provide financial analysis and internal controls that support informed operational planning and business decision-making.
- Partner with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and HR support teams to keep financial processes efficient and well coordinated.
- Improve accounting workflows and reinforce internal control practices to support a growing business environment.
- Assist with finance-related system and process initiatives, including activities connected to the move from legacy platforms to Epicor.
- Communicate effectively with local management, broader finance leadership, and corporate stakeholders in a multi-location structure. Requirements
- Previous experience in a Controller position or another senior accounting leadership role.
- Strong background in manufacturing accounting, with the ability to support operational and cost-focused analysis.
- Demonstrated knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Understanding of cost accounting, financial controls, and operational finance in a production-based environment.
- Experience working within a multi-site or matrixed reporting structure.
- Familiarity with ERP or legacy accounting systems; exposure to system implementation or transition work is preferred.
- Ability to work onsite on a permanent basis and build effective partnerships across accounting and operations teams.
