We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. The Assistant Controller of Financial Reporting and Controls reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor-Business & Financial Services and Controller. This position manages the accuracy of financial statements, ensures GAAP/GASB/regulatory compliance, supports executive leadership by preparing financial reports. Provides budget-to-actual variance analysis and supports the CFO in strategic financial planning and forecasting and establishment of reporting templates for the campus. This position is responsible for developing financial models, strategies and recommendations which inform executive level decision making and support campus-wide integrated strategic planning processes to maximize income on cash balances and long term working capital, and determine feasibility of funding capital projects and initiatives that are consistent with liquidity, cash flow, and risk budget requirements. Key Responsibilities Performs the most complex and advanced analysis techniques, understands past performance and determines present and future performance and/or resource allocations. In collaboration with senior management, independently designs, develops, and deploys effective fund management strategies and internal controls aimed at mitigating financial risk, by exercising leadership, effective decision making, fiscal oversight, and stewardship of University external funds, in compliance with contract, University, State, and Federal regulations.
