We're looking for a hands-on Controller who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and wants to play a key role in scaling our finance function as we grow. The Role We're seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations. This role owns the full accounting cycle — from cost accounting and inventory valuation to financial reporting and internal controls — while partnering closely with plant operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to drive financial performance. Key Responsibilities Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP Manage cost variance analysis (material, labor, overhead), and inventory valuation/reconciliation Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts in coordination with plant operations Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, and productivity metrics; identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains Maintain and strengthen internal controls over inventory, fixed assets, and production accounting Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses in partnership with plant and operations leadership Manage fixed asset accounting, including capital expenditure tracking and depreciation Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including vendor terms, collections, cash application, and aging review Lead and develop the accounting team (AP, AR, cost accounting) Support external audits, tax filings, and lender/banking relationships Partner with ERP/systems teams to improve reporting accuracy and process automation Present financial results and key operational metrics to senior leadership Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, MBA, or CMA strongly preferred) 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment Public accounting experience highly preferred Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management Prior supervisory/management experience leading an accounting team Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and advanced Excel skills Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Experience working cross-functionally with plant/operations leadership What's Offered Competitive salary Medical and dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off and holidays Opportunity to shape the finance function of a growing manufacturer This search is being conducted on a confidential basis.
