CONTROLLER - MANUFACTURING

TORRANCE, CA
Robert Half is seeking an experienced Controller for a confidential manufacturing client in Torrance, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA with public-company experience and a strong background in financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who can identify inefficiencies, strengthen controls, improve processes, and partner effectively across the organization. Key Responsibilities
+ Lead preparation and review of periodic financial statements, footnotes, earnings materials, and regulatory filings.
+ Oversee financial controls, accounting policies, governance, and management review processes.
+ Partner with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
+ Support accounting and reporting requirements related to M& A, financings, and other strategic initiatives.
+ Research and interpret US GAAP and regulatory requirements and apply them to financial reporting and disclosures.
+ Manage reporting calendars and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet critical deadlines.
+ Support the monthly/quarterly close and consolidation process.
+ Review financial information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased efficiency across accounting and financial reporting functions.
+ Develop and implement improved accounting procedures, controls, workflows, and reporting processes.
+ Provide accounting leadership and technical guidance to management and cross-functional business partners. Ideal Candidate
+ Active CPA required.
+ Publicly traded company experience required.
+ Strong knowledge of
US GAAP, SEC
reporting, financial statements, and internal controls.
+ Proven experience with external audits and complex financial reporting.
+ Demonstrated success improving accounting processes, implementing efficiencies, and strengthening controls.
+ Experience with M& A, financings, or other complex transactions preferred.
+ Manufacturing or multi-entity experience strongly preferred.
+ Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. - 10+ years of progressive experience in controllership, financial reporting, or corporate accounting roles.
- Strong background in audited financial statements, annual reporting, consolidations, and external financial disclosures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting guidance, regulatory filing requirements, and internal control practices.
- Experience collaborating with independent auditors and managing quarterly and year-end audit activities.
- Ability to support complex transactions such as financings, mergers, acquisitions, and related reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in financial close processes, financial statement analysis, and reporting systems such as Workday Financial Management.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent credential is preferred.
