Job Description

Job Title:
Accounting Controller PT/FT Position Pay:
Based on Experience We are a well-established and growing design-build firm with over 17 years in business , seeking a PT/FT Controller to support our in-house Admin Coordinator. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on, detail-oriented, and part of a collaborative, fast-moving team. Position Overview The Controller will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency as our company continues to grow. This position is required to work from our office 3+ days per week .
Key Responsibilities:
The controller will need full accountability and understanding of the general ledger and will need experience with compiling accrued financial statements in a construction accounting environment.
Specific responsibilities should include:
Hard Close of Month-end on an accrual basis, including WIP and percentage of completion accruals. Oversight and Management of all Financial Workflows , including cost recognition and A/P, accrued revenue recognition and A/R, time tracking/labor costs, and payroll. Oversight and Approval of all Transaction Processing , including invoicing batches, vendor payment batches and payroll approvals. Advise and Report to Ownership on financial health i.e., budget variances, project profitability, cash flow and organizational KPI's. Facilitate Income Tax filings with CPA Oversee Sales Tax accruals, filings, and payments
Technical Skill Requirements:
Bachelors in accounting, (masters in accounting or MBA a plus) Experience in a construction accounting or related environment (5+ Years) Experience with work in process and WIP accounting (3+ Years) Experience in QuickBooks Online, Office 365 (Excel a must), state agency filing websites (5+ Years) Experience managing accounting and administrative staff (3+ Years)
