Controller
Fort Collins, Colorado Controller Location:
 Fort Collins, CO
Compensation:
 $160,000 - 180,000 + bonus Position Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing all corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for the organization. This role ensures the accuracy of financial information, compliancy with accounting regulations and audits, and supports strategic business decisions. The Controller partners closely with leadership to drive operational performance, financial accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead all aspects of accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Manage general ledger activity and month-end close through to the financial reporting to the executive team Own technical accounting including leasing contracts and revenue recognition Partner with business leaders to provide financial guidance, analysis, and decision-making support. Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and recommend opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning to support ongoing business needs. Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Support the development and execution of financial strategies that align with organizational goals. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing and developing accounting or finance teams Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting best practices Demonstrated experience managing month-end and year-end close processes Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Experience with ERP, accounting systems and financial reporting tools Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Success Profile The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who combines technical accounting expertise with strong business acumen. They are proactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of building strong relationships across the organization while driving financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and team development.
