This role is critical in driving financial accuracy, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring strong financial controls across a multi-project environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Reporting Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Lead month-end and year-end close processes Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies Job Costing & Project Accounting Manage and optimize job costing systems across all active projects Oversee Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, including revenue recognition and cost tracking Partner with project managers to review budgets, forecasts, and financial performance Analyze project profitability and provide actionable insights to leadership Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategy Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts aligned with company objectives Provide financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health Identify risks and opportunities across project pipelines and operations Team Leadership & Process Improvement Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team Implement and enhance accounting systems, controls, and workflows Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reporting accuracy Collaborate with operations, estimating, and executive leadership Compliance & Controls Maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance Coordinate audits, tax filings, and external reporting Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and financial partners Preferred Experience Background in HVAC, plumbing, or industrial mechanical contracting Experience in high-revenue, multi-project construction environments CPA or CMA certification This is a high-impact leadership role for a Controller who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and brings deep expertise in construction accounting and financial strategy.
