Job Description This Controller role in Fairfield, Maine, is responsible for the financial condition of our client's business through financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning. Working fully on-site, the Controller partners closely with the Owner and leadership team to track financial results, develop projections, recommend corrective actions, and support informed business decisions. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's strategic plan Create the annual budget and monitor performance against budget on a monthly basis Track and report financial results on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual timelines as needed Prepare monthly income statements and internal financial reports Provide financial tools, operational insights, and recommendations to the management team Identify, develop, and report meaningful key performance indicators to support departmental performance Perform financial analysis for income projections and cost accounting by product line and service Manage daily cash flow and borrowing needs Work directly with banking partners on financing options as required Monitor long-term debt, EFT payments, and financing arrangements Restructure debt or financing for assets when beneficial Maintain strong relationships with financial institutions Oversee the Business Office, including supervision of three full-time staff members Lead or contribute to special financial and operational projects Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent education combined with closely related professional experience Three or more years of progressively responsible financial management experience in a for-profit environment Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting regulations, and financial reporting standards Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work on-site and collaborate closely with ownership and management Work Environment This is a fully on-site Controller position in Fairfield, Maine, offering close collaboration with business leadership and direct responsibility for financial outcomes.
