Job Description
Assistant Controller
Greenwich, CT Summary:
The Assistant Controller - Operations will be located in our Greenwich, CT office and will work as part of the accounting team to achieve departmental goals and manage general accounting staff. They will report directly to the Controller.Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to the following:Manage:
staff of 2 employees across treasury and accounts payable functionsTreasury:
Responsible for managing banking relations; opening banking accounts; ensuring wires/achs are released following stated procedures/guidelines; review of prior day cash transactions ensuring all items have been recorded in the general ledger; review of bank reconciliations; review of interest calculations for bank lines and intercompany loansAccounts Payable:
Responsible for approving payables; ensuring coding/descriptions are accurate; new vendor setup is correct; annual 1099 review is completed accurately and on timeFunds:
Prepare and/or review assigned fund workpapers, related financial statements and other reports on a quarterly basis ensuring reporting is complete and accurate; help support the audit of those funds, providing auditors with information they need; review of quarterly/annual GAAP projections for certain fundsTax Returns:
Review assigned tax returns prepared by third parties ensuring they reflect the activity recording the general ledgers; record journal entries as needed Back up for Assistant Controller - Funds (AR, Capital Calls, etc.) Other ad-hoc reports/investor requests as neededNOTE:

Bachelor's degree from accredited university, with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (3.0+ GPA).Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years accounting experience required; Investment or real estate experience preferred; CPA required; Public Accounting experience preferred; Familiarity with partnership tax returns preferredSkills and Certifications:
Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite , proficient in Excel; Strong work ethic; Hands-on/flexible; Able to handle high volume of transactions; Work well under pressure/deadlines; Strong writing skills; Eager to learn; Able to work late many nights from Jan - April, the busiest seasonSimilar remote jobs
